This is the Municipal naval company, that runs 2 fast boats to/from Mastichari. Very practical, runs often and waits for the last Olympic Airways flight that lands in Kos' international airport.

Upon arriving in the port of Pothia, at the entrance of the harbor you can find the Municipal Tourism Office. There one can get detailed information about the island, the hotels, the rooms for rent, the different schedules for boats, busses etc.

The Municipal Bus service does not run on Sundays...

There's an excellent guide for you people who enjoy the thousands of routes our island has to offer! It is climbkalymnos.com, and apart from being the best effort to put together all the relevant info in one place, is right from the horse's mouth! It is maintained by Mr. Theodoropoulos, who's the main person behind Kalymnos' establishment as a safe, fun place to climb after it was discovered.

The Archaeological Museum in Pothia is a very interesting visit! It hosts all the statues that were discovered near the temple of Apollo, in a christian "apothetirion" (basically a pit where the statues were left to be buried for ever). Now they are proudly displayed in a beautiful and well organized space to the joy of the locals and to the amazment of visitors.

There's one in particular, which is amongst the very few bronze supernatural (larger than natural size) statues ever discovered in Greece! It is called the "Lady of Kalymnos" and it is an absolute beauty!

One can also see a supernatural Asclepeus, a Core (a female Kouros) and a hermaphrodite -which is an athlete's dedication to Apollo- amongst the ~125 statues that compose the collection! And then there's the Byzantine period exibition and last (but first in reality!) the Neolithic collections from Vathy.

Visit the museum at will, commision is free.

Unfortunately there's no xDSL (broadband) infrastructure in Emporios... Therefore, Wi-Fi cannot be offered... When this is fixed, we will be more than glad to remove this notice!

Due to the above mentioned limitation of connections, we cannot accept credit cards. The banks do not give the old, hand-operated mechanisms anymore, so it is impossible for the moment...
